Happy 4th!

Hello & Happy 4th, y’all! I had so much fun creating todays crafts, I couldn’t want to share!

I tried a different painting technique with this jar. It was a little tougher than I had expected, but the final product is perfect! Instead of painting the outside of the jar, I painted the inside.
This was the easiest jar! I simply painted the jar blue and added a glittery finish. I happened to find the finish on the sale rack at Michaels! I can’t wait to use it on other projects!
This little beauty took a little longer, but was worth it! I saw something similar in Michaels, and decided I could make it myself. This jar is definitely my favorite out of the three!

I hope you enjoyed! Happy crafting!!!

Decoupage Owl

Hello!

I haven’t decoupaged something in a long time… So when I was working on this little protect I was worried it wouldn’t turn out as cute as it did!  I found the owl cut out at Walmart.  I traced the owl onto scrap book paper.  I covered the wooden owl in Mod Podge glue and then covered the paper owl in Mod Podge.  After placing the paper on top of the wood, I used a brush to smooth out the paper.  Once the paper started to dry, I applied a coat of Mod Podge to seal the paper.  I added a little bow for a finishing touch!

Mermaid Tiara

Hello! Today’s craft was lots of fun (and frustrating) to make!  I was inspired to make my tiara by a Pinterest post.  Unfortunately, mine didn’t go quite as smooth as the Pinterest post, but I’m incredibly pleased with how my tiara turned out!
What you’ll need:

-Tiara

-Sea Shells
-Pearl Paint (I used Martha Stewart Brand)
-Crafting Pearls
-Hot Glue Gun
-Wood Glue
-Super Glue
The Pinterest post I found used a dollar store tiara, however I didn’t like the selection at the dollar store, a lot of the tiaras were made of plastic and weren’t going to hold up once the shells were attached.  I purchased my tiara from Walmart.  I made sure that the tiara had higher arches so that I had surface area to attach the shells.  I started by painting the shells. Once they were dry, I started gluing the shells on from the center out.  The glue situation was a little frustrating.  Hot glue was good for a quick fix, however, it wasn’t holding up.  I ended up using both wood glue and hot glue. The wood glue provided a stronger bond over time.  I attached the tiny shells and crafting pearls using super glue.  I love the way my mermaid tiara turned out!  Hope y’all enjoy!!!

Mason Jar Candle

Hello! Here’s a fun little craft I found on Pinterest!
What you’ll need:
-Mason Jar
-Mod Podge (I used the spray not the glue)
-Glitter
-Battery operated Tea Light
-Ribbon
Spray the inside of the mason jar with mod podge (or you can coat it with glue). Add glitter.  I put the lit back on and shook the jar until the glitter covered the glass.  Then, simply add a tea light to the inside and screw the glass on top of the lid.  I added a little ribbon to match the decor in the room. Hope ya’ll enjoy!

In Memory

I decided to take one of my favorite sayings and create a little sign.  I made one for my home and one for my niece in memory of my Mom!  This was a quick and easy little craft!

What you’ll need:
-Sign (I chose both of mine from Michael’s)
-Markers (I used paint markers, but sharpies work too!)
-Burlap Bows!

I just simply wrote the quote on the sign above.  For the sign below, I used a plain wooden sign and painted it pink, before writing the quote.
Then I added the burlap bows, which I also found at Michael’s!  Quick and easy!  Happy crafting y’all!
